    Triumph 3-Day IRON RELAY!
    Welcome to the Triumph 3-Day Iron Relay. The Triumph Iron Relay was started by the Corvallis Triathlon Club in 2016 as a way to get the endurance community together for a weekend of training and racing without the usual stress of a triathlon. This unique event features a 2.4-mile swim on Friday, 112-mile bike on Saturday and a 26.2-mile run on Sunday. Each leg is split into multiple laps to be divvied up among teammates however you see fit. Each day at the end of the segment, we have food, beverages and an athlete social. 

    The Triumph Iron Relay is a great way to introduce your friends and family to the sport of triathlon in a very approachable, stress free environment. The shortest lap options are 100 meters, 11.2 miles and 2.6 miles. For those training up for a half or full ironman, the soloattempt at either the full or half distance will get you plenty of supported training miles over the weekend. Up to 5 people can compete per day and you can have a team of up to 10 people. There is plenty of friendly competition as well with the Triumph Iron Relay course record in reach at 9:22:31.  Come join us for a summer event you don’t want to miss!

    The swim is at Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis, the bike is at Emerson Vineyards in Monmouth, and the run is in Corvallis at Brandis Farm. Free camping is available for racers and their families at Brandis Farm Friday-Monday.

    The Corvallis Tri-umph relay came about from an idea to make it possible for single-sport athletes such as swimmers, cyclists and runners to experience the fun and challenge of a triathlon. In addition, Corvallis Triathlon Club members were looking to put on an event that brought friends and families together. Several of the club members have participated in other relay events, like “Pole, Pedal, Paddle”, “Hood to Coast” and “Barrel to Keg”. We wanted to put on something similar for the sport of triathlon. A team relay seemed like the ideal type of event to accomplish these goals. This allows people who may not be comfortable in all three sports or just want to try out the sport to get an understanding of it before attempting to do an individual triathlon. 
    We also thought it should be a full “Iron-distance” event to give people an opportunity to brag that they have “done” an Iron triathlon!!

    Who is supporting the race?
    The race is being organized Best in the West Events and supported heavily by the Corvallis Triathlon Club.

    What's the atmosphere like?
    This is a very welcoming social event. While there is some competition among teams, you can expect a weekend full of socializing with fellow athletes, making new friends, and a with bit of endurance sport sport mixed in. The team atmosphere is a fun way to get all of your friends and family involved. The last few years, everyone was supportive of everyone. We all cheered for one another.  It is such a welcoming group, you'll have a great time whether you fly solo or create a team. We love endurance sport and the people who attempt it, regardless of speed or experience. We are all here to have a great time and support each other. Leave the usual race stress behind and come have a good time with us!

    Date/Time Information:
    3:00-4:30pm: Camping check in
    5:15pm: Packet pick up at Osborn Aquatic Center and team photo
    5:45pm: Swimmers briefing
    6:00pm: Swim 
    2 hours and 30 minutes is the maximum allowable time to complete the swim

    Depending on the number of teams registered, the pool may be set up as a 50meter course or 100meter course.

    8am - 4pm: 112 mile bike at Emerson Vineyards
    8 hour time limit. All team members must be finished the course by 4pm.

    Early start available for teams/individuals who may be close to/over the 8 hour limit. Please contact us if you would like to start early following the rules of the road.

    9am - 3pm: 26.2 mile run at Brandis Farm (Bald Hill)
    6 hour time limit.  All team members must be finished the course by 3pm.?

    1pm: BBQ begins
