Name: Roseburg Public Library Author Visit: Sheri Rokus
    Date: April 23, 2020
    Time: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM PDT
    Event Description:

Roseburg Public Library will host local author Sheri Rokus for a book discussion and signing Thursday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Deer Creek Room. Rokus will present her book “Surviving the Detour of Divorce, My Journey with Christ and My Carpool of Friends,” which shares the true stories of 14 men and women of faith who survived divorce. The event is free and open to the public.

Rokus grew up in Utah and began writing as a teenager. In 1988, she attended Ricks College, where she got engaged and soon married. Sheri pursued a career as a beautician and was fascinated by the inspiring stories of her clients. When she divorced in 2002, she drove to a Christian bookstore looking for a book about divorce and left empty-handed. Rokus became passionate about writing the divorce experiences of others. In 2011, she left Utah and married Roseburg native Michael Rokus. In 2015, she attended Umpqua Community College, where she wrote for the journalism department and earned a certification as communications specialist in organizations.
