  • Originally formed in the late 1990s as an affiliate of the International Festivals & Events Association, the OFEA later became a stand-alone organization focusing on the Oregon events industry.

    It is led by a board composed of events professionals and volunteers, and is staffed by an executive director. Committees and advisory teams are assembled from time to time as needed.

    OFEA presents various educational sessions, including quarterly one-day workshops in rotating areas of the state. Its biggest gathering is the annual Festivals and Events Conference in March. There, speakers, seminars, round tables, a trade show and the Ovations! Awards luncheon provide an unparalleled opportunity to meet your peers from around the state while learning from experts.

    Additional resources are provided to members through the OFEA website, monthly E-newsletters and email announcements and updates. Supplier referrals and requests for other contacts are available by calling the OFEA office.

    Promotional assistance is provided to more than 1200 Oregon events through the OFEA’s annual Oregon Events Calendar magazine. Free copies are distributed to more than 90,000 readers through visitors bureaus, chambers of commerce and other public outlets. Event listings from the Calendar are also posted on Travel Oregon’s website.
